Curacao is considered a nursery for the smaller fish, you will most likely see Angelfish, Trumpetfish, Dory Fish, eels, flounders, crabs, lobsters, octopus, squid… the list is long! You will see a vast array of marine life, sometimes Turtles, occasional rays. Typically we do not have sharks here in Curacao.
Is night diving worth it?
Yes! The reef is particularly stunning and lively at night and definitely worth checking out. It’s quite different to how you’ll see it in the daytime, and filled with cool night-time critters including octopus, lobsters, crabs and lots of glowing shrimp eyes. More info and safety restrictions here.
What are the water temperatures like year-round?
Water temperature ranges from 78F/26C to 84F/29C. We are lucky to be able to dive all year round here in sunny Curacao!
Do you dive from a boat?
We specialize in shore diving rather than boat diving, and Curacao is one of the best shore diving locations in the world. The entries are easy, right from the shore with short, easy, relaxing swim-outs to the beautiful fringing coral reef.
However, you can add a day of boat diving to your package! We partner up with another operator for Boat dives out to the beautiful Eastpoint dive sites (minimum number of divers required), more info here.
Do you have DIN tanks, 15 litre tanks or Nitrox available?
We have plenty of DIN tanks available and Nitrox 32%. We have 2 x 15 litre (100cf) tank. For nitrox or the 15 litre tanks please be sure to let us know in advance.
Do we need to have boots for our fins?
Yes, as we are shore diving in Curacao we recommend having boots and open heel fins not the full foot fins.
Do you include Lunch on the dives?
On The Dive Bus Guided Dive Bus Trips we take along fruit, snacks and sodas for your surface interval as diving makes you hungry!
How long do I need to wait after diving before flying?
If you make 1 dive, you should wait a minimum of 12 hours before you fly. If you make more than 1 dive, or dive multiple days, you should wait a minimum of 18 hours.
Do I need specific dive insurance?
Whilst scuba diving can be a very safe activity, we do recommend that you purchase diving insurance. In the event of injury, decompression sickness, equipment loss or damage, DAN insurance is priceless and may also include trip insurance.
